A 10-minute-drive from Ramada Residences by Wyndham Saalfelden, the Schmittenhöhe mountain is a popular focus for exciting winter sports, summer hiking and mountaineering for Zell am See. Rising almost 2000m above sea level, there are incredibly beautiful views from its summit across 30 majestic 3000m peaks and Zell’s crystal clear lake and sweeping valley.

Located on the eastern edge of the Kitzbϋhel Alps, this is a mountain sports paradise with everyone able to take to the slopes, from absolute beginners to ‘snow pros’ ready to tackle its ‘black’ challenges. For more info visit www.schmitten.at/en

The Kitzsteinhorn – Kaprun

At an altitude of 3203 metres above sea level and surrounded by Austria’s highest peaks, the magnificent Kitzsteinhorn mountain and glacier are part of the Hohe Tauern National Park, the Alps’ biggest and most beautiful park located in the district of Kaprun.

The glacier ice does not melt, making a visit here dazzling at any time of year, and with snow on the mountain guaranteed from October to early summer, skiers and boarders can indulge their passion all year round. Free guided glacier hiking tours are available to explore the mountain scenery and the views are phenomenal.

Hochkönig – Maria Alm

The highest mountain in the Berchtesgarden Alps, Hochkönig entices skiers of all capabilities to discover the slopes and attracts outdoor holidaying families to its broad spaces and vibrant array of summer and winter activities with plenty of provision for beginners and children.

At 2,943m above sea level, the mountain has a variety of ascents and descents, with forests all around, and wonderful opportunities for skiing, including cross country and off-piste for the advanced skiers while intermediates fare extremely well.
